Wobbly Wheel Cafe sits just off the A38 in Kennford, making it a convenient stop for travelers rolling through Exeter towards Devon or Cornwall. Despite its roadside location, the cafe offers a cosy, welcoming environment where locals and visitors alike can pause for a solid breakfast or a casual lunch without the fuss.

The atmosphere inside leans towards the relaxed and practical, with friendly staff who know their regulars but are equally warm to one-offs passing through. It’s popular with cyclists, partly because of the indoor bike parking — a thoughtful touch that shows the cafe’s connection to the active, outdoorsy crowd moving through this part of the country.

The menu mirrors classic cafe staples but with a good range of options, from cooked breakfasts (including veggie versions) to sandwiches and wraps that balance familiar flavours with seasonal twists. The breakfast portions are generous, often arriving quickly, making it a reliable spot to fuel up before a day on the road or a local walk. Their gluten-free and vegan offerings also stand out, catering well to different dietary needs without compromising on taste.

While coffee here receives steady praise, it's the homemade cakes and pastries that add a homely, comforting vibe—perfect alongside a mid-morning cup or afternoon snack. The small but satisfying salad sides give some fresh balance to heartier dishes, appealing to those who want a bit lighter fare without losing flavour.

Wobbly Wheel is best for those who appreciate a straightforward, unpretentious cafe experience with speedy service and a community feel. Weekday mornings or early weekends might be the ideal times to drop by, especially if you're passing through and keen for a friendly stop where the buzz is relaxed but lively enough to feel connected to the local rhythm.

We were walking round this village and we had to park on the road near to this cafe as the road was closed where we wanted to go but we decided that when we return to the car we would eat here. So so glad we did. Such a friendly place. Lovely food and quickly served. The salad filled the rest of the plate. I had the special of the day and it was yummy . Also took some cake home. Highly recommend. We will be back Many thanks
